Every gutter cleaning includes:
- Every channel is cleared by hand, including leaves, seed pods, pine needles, and roof grit packed along the bottom.
- Every downspout is flushed with water down to the ground-level outlet.
- Any blocked downspout is cleared on the spot.
- We haul the debris away, or bag it neatly at the curb when there’s no room.
- Each run gets a water flow check, so you know water is moving toward the downspouts.
- The whole system gets a visual inspection for loose hangers, sagging runs, and leaking seams.
We clean aluminum, vinyl, copper, and steel gutters. Tiger stripe removal, gutter whitening, and gutter guard removal and reinstall are separate services, each explained below.
Why Long Island Gutters Clog So Fast
Where you live in Nassau County changes what ends up in your gutters:
- North Shore homes in Glen Head, Roslyn, Oyster Bay, and Syosset sit under mature oaks and maples that drop heavy leaf loads every fall.
- South Shore homes in Merrick, Bellmore, Wantagh, and Massapequa take nor’easters and coastal storms that drive leaves, twigs, and grit into the gutters.
- Central Nassau homes in Hicksville, Plainview, Bethpage, and Levittown deal with oak tassels, maple seeds, and pine pollen that turn to paste in spring rain and choke downspout openings.
The result is the same everywhere: clogged channels, overflowing gutters, and water landing against the house instead of draining away from it.

Why Clean Gutters Matter for Long Island Homes

Proper Function
Gutters have one job: carry roof water away from your fascia, siding, and foundation. When leaves, seed pods, and pine needles pile up, that water spills over the edge instead. Clearing every channel by hand and flushing every downspout gets the system draining the way it was built to.
Prevent Water Damage
On Long Island, a clogged gutter usually shows itself first as overflow during a summer downpour or a nor’easter. That water lands against the house, soaks the soil along the foundation, and works into fascia boards and basements. Regular cleaning keeps it moving through the downspouts and away from your home.
Avoid Mold Growth
Water that spills over clogged gutters keeps siding, fascia, and the soil along your foundation damp. Damp, shaded spots are where mold and mildew take hold. Clean channels and clear downspouts keep that moisture away from the house.

Why Nassau County Homeowners Trust Kevin and the Team
Kevin has been in business on Long Island since 1986, and Pressure Wash Long Island is a family-owned company based at 108 Jerusalem Ave in Hicksville. Most of Nassau County is a short drive from our door, and the people who write your quote are the same company that does the work.
We hold Nassau County license #HO455700000, and we’re insured and PWMCA certified. Gutter cleaning is ladder work at roof height on every job, so hiring a licensed and insured company protects your home as much as it protects our crew.
Gutters are part of the whole outside of the house. Many homeowners pair gutter cleaning with house washing or roof cleaning. If you’re tired of gutters that refill every season, we can talk through gutter guard installation.

What Affects the Cost of Gutter Cleaning on Long Island
Gutter cleaning on Long Island starts at $295. Your price depends mostly on how many linear feet of gutter your home has and how high it sits, and what’s included is spelled out on your written quote.
What moves the price up from there:
- Linear footage: more gutter runs and more downspouts take more time.
- Height: a two- or three-story home needs taller ladders and more setup than a ranch.
- Roof pitch and access: steep roofs, dormers, and tight side yards slow the work down.
- Debris load: gutters under mature trees, or ones that haven’t been cleaned in a year or more, take longer to clear.
- Gutter guards: if guards have to come off to reach the gutter, removing and reinstalling them is priced separately.
- Extra services: tiger stripe removal and gutter whitening are priced on their own lines.
We price every home individually from a satellite review. The quote is free, with no obligation: call (516) 350-8393 or request your free quote online.

I cannot give a high enough rating for this fantastic company and its owners from start to finish. Getting an estimate and setting up a date for the job was easy. The pricing was very fair. We had 2 slate terraces and 2 connecting walkways and one side of our house cleaned and pressure washed. Kevin, the owner and work professional did a truly great job with attention to detail and great care. How We Clean Gutters on Long Island
Our Gutter Cleaning Process
On job day, the team clears leaves, pine needles, seed pods, and compacted debris from every gutter run by hand, then flushes each downspout down to the ground-level outlet and clears any blockage on the spot. Once the debris is cleared away, Kevin or a team member walks the gutter line to check the work before we pack up.
Tiger Stripe Removal (Separate Service)
Tiger stripes are the dark vertical streaks on the outside face of a gutter. They form when dirty roof runoff spills over the gutter lip and the grime bonds to the painted finish, so rain and a regular rinse won’t take them off. We remove them by hand with a gutter-specific cleaner, priced on its own line.
Gutter Whitening for Oxidized Gutter Faces (Separate Service)
Oxidation is the chalky, faded film that builds up on painted gutter faces after years of sun and weather, and salt air near the South Shore is especially hard on these finishes. Gutter whitening removes that oxidized layer to brighten the original color of the gutter faces. Whitening can’t replace paint that has already worn through, so the result depends on how much of the original finish is left.
Gutter Guard Removal and Reinstall (Add-On)
Guards and screens keep out leaves, but fine debris still settles underneath, so the guards have to come off before the gutter can be cleaned. We take the guards off, clean the gutters, and put the same guards back, and that step is quoted as its own add-on. If your current guards are damaged or don’t fit well, see our micro-mesh gutter guard installation.
Built for Long Island’s Trees and Storms
Long Island gutters fill fastest in two seasons: fall leaf drop and the late-spring rush of oak tassels, maple seeds, and pollen. Late-summer tropical storms and fall nor’easters then test whatever is left in the channel with heavy, wind-driven rain. When the team cleans your gutters, we note the trees around your home and the debris we pull out, so the schedule we recommend fits your property.
When to Schedule Gutter Cleaning on Long Island
Plan on two cleanings a year for most homes here: one in late fall once the leaves are down, and one in late spring after the tassels and seed pods drop. Wooded lots and yards with tall pines often call for a late-summer visit too. A homeowner maintenance plan for recurring cleanings is available on request.
Protecting Your Foundation, Basement, and Landscaping
Clogged gutters dump roof water along the foundation instead of sending it out through the downspouts. That water can work into basements, wash out mulch and plantings, and pull joint sand out of pavers below the roofline. In winter, water trapped in a clogged gutter can freeze and add to ice buildup at the roof edge.
What We Check on Every Cleaning
Every gutter cleaning includes a visual check of the whole system. We look for hangers pulling away, runs that sag or hold water, and joints that drip, and we point out anything we find so it can be fixed before it causes water damage. If your roof also needs roof cleaning, plan it before the gutters, so debris rinsed off the roof doesn’t land in freshly cleaned channels.

Gutter Cleaning Long Island — Frequently Asked Questions
Got Questions? We've Got Answers
How much does gutter cleaning cost on Long Island?
Gutter cleaning on Long Island starts at $295. The price goes up with more linear feet of gutter, a taller home, a steep or hard-to-reach roof, and heavy debris. Add-ons such as guard removal and reinstall are priced separately. Most homes are quoted by satellite, so you get a free written quote without a visit.
What does professional gutter cleaning include?
Every gutter cleaning includes clearing each channel by hand, flushing every downspout to the ground-level outlet, and a visual check for loose hangers, sagging runs, and leaking seams. We haul the debris away, or bag it neatly at the curb when there’s no room. Tiger stripe removal, gutter whitening, and guard removal and reinstall are separate services, listed on your written quote.
How long does gutter cleaning take?
The time it takes depends on the size of your home, the pitch of the roof, how much debris is in the gutters, and how long it’s been since the last cleaning. Some gutters we see have never been cleaned at all, and those take longer. You get a time estimate when your job is scheduled, so you know what to expect that day.
How often should gutters be cleaned on Long Island?
Most Long Island homes need gutter cleaning twice a year, once in late fall after the leaves drop and once in late spring after oak tassels and seed pods come down. Homes on wooded lots, near tall pines, or under mature North Shore oaks and maples may need a third cleaning in late summer. We recommend a schedule based on what we pull out of your gutters.
What is the best month to clean gutters on Long Island?
Late November into early December is the most important time, after most leaves are down but before freezing weather sets in. May or June is the second window, after spring pollen, seeds, and oak tassels fall. Booking ahead of both helps prevent ice dams in winter and overflow during heavy spring and summer storms.
Are tiger stripe removal and gutter whitening part of gutter cleaning?
No. Regular gutter cleaning clears the inside of the gutters and the downspouts. Tiger stripe removal takes the dark streaks off the outside face of the gutters, and gutter whitening removes the chalky oxidation that fades painted gutter faces. Both are separate services, and either one can be added to your written quote along with your gutter cleaning.
Can you clean gutters that have gutter guards?
Yes. Guards or screens have to come off before the inside of the gutter can be cleaned, because fine debris still collects underneath them. We remove the guards, clean the gutters, and reinstall the guards afterward. Removal and reinstall is priced separately from the cleaning on your written quote. If your guards are damaged or poorly fitted, ask about our gutter guard installation.
Is it worth paying for professional gutter cleaning?
For most Long Island homeowners, yes. Clogged gutters overflow against the foundation, fascia, and landscaping, and water damage repairs can cost far more than a cleaning. Gutter work also means ladder work at roof height. A licensed and insured company clears every channel, flushes every downspout, and checks the whole system, so small problems get caught early.
