Why the Trade Background Matters for Your Property

Kevin’s Background — 40+ Years on Long Island Homes

Kevin has been working on Long Island homes since 1982 — over four decades of hands-on experience that started with learning how to sweep a job site properly and built into a career spanning structural renovation, custom millwork, and finish carpentry across Nassau County.

He launched Creatively Done Homes Improvements Inc. in 1986 and spent the next 35 years renovating homes from the studs out — setting steel I-beams, building custom cabinetry as a bench man in a millwork shop, and finishing everything from hardwood floors to marble fireplace surrounds. That career taught him something most companies never learn: every finish has a compatibility, an application method, a drying time, and a curing time — and those are all very different things.

Most pressure washing companies hire general labor, hand them a wand, and send them to your house. They do not know the difference between EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems), also commonly known as Dryvit, and traditional stucco. They do not understand that cedar requires a different surfactant than vinyl. They do not know that two-part urethane paver sealer needs specific surface temperature and humidity conditions to cure properly — or that solvent-based sealers trap moisture and turn white under the surface.

Kevin knows these things because he spent 40 years learning how materials work — not from a YouTube video, but from installing, finishing, and repairing them on Long Island homes. When Pressure Wash Long Island’s trade-trained technicians assess substrate compatibility before cleaning your property, that assessment is backed by four decades of material knowledge. That is the difference between a company that cleans surfaces and a company that understands them.

Our Mission

To protect every Long Island property we touch — using 40+ years of trade-level material knowledge, methods that are safe for your surfaces and landscaping, and a standard of work that has not changed since Kevin first picked up a tool in 1982. Honest pricing, precise application, no shortcuts.

How We Work

We treat every property the way Kevin would treat a custom millwork installation — right materials, right method, right conditions, no shortcuts. That means identifying your surfaces before we clean them, selecting the right biodegradable surfactant solution for your specific contamination, and never applying more pressure than the substrate can handle. We show up on time, quote honestly, and walk the property with you when we are done. No gimmicks, no upselling, no generic one-pressure-fits-all approach. Just 40+ years of trade knowledge applied to every job.

From consultation to completion, we respect your privacy and your property. When you need a company you can trust with your home or business, Pressure Wash Long Island is the name behind the work — and the family behind the name.

How Pressure Wash Long Island Came to Be

As a home improvement contractor, Kevin always stressed one thing above everything else — cleanliness. You can be the most talented carpenter on Long Island, but if you leave a messy job site, that’s what the homeowner remembers. Kevin instilled that standard in himself, in Matthew, and in every employee who worked with him. On larger remodeling projects, the crew routinely power washed patios and walkways as part of the final cleanup, while Kevin’s wife and her friends handled the interior — dusting, cleaning windows, and scrubbing bathrooms — making sure every homeowner walked into a finished space that looked as good as it was built.

Then New York shut down construction in 2020.

Overnight, the business Kevin relied on to support his family and employees came to a complete stop. No warning, no timeline — just zero income. As a husband, father, and business owner, everything was tied to one company. That moment forced a hard realization: no family should depend entirely on a single income stream that can be shut down without notice.

That was the turning point.

Pressure Wash Long Island was built from that realization — not as a side hustle, but as a safeguard. A business his wife and son could operate independently if needed. The foundation was already there: the cleaning experience, the equipment knowledge, and the commitment to leaving every property better than it was found.

With the pressure washing business came paver restoration and sealing — where Kevin’s finishing background truly sets the company apart. Restoring and sealing pavers, natural stone, and wood surfaces is detailed finish work. It requires a deep understanding of materials, proper surface preparation, product compatibility, and precise application — skills Kevin developed over more than four decades in residential renovation. Very few companies in the pressure washing industry bring that level of experience. Kevin approaches every surface the same way he would custom finish work: with precision, the right products, and the discipline to let each step cure properly.

People often ask why Kevin would start a second business when the remodeling company was already successful. The answer is simple — success is exactly what exposed the risk. Everything depended on one business, one person’s expertise, and one source of income. The 2020 shutdown proved how quickly that can change.

It wasn’t a step away from the trade — it was an extension of it.

Pressure Wash Long Island exists so that Kevin’s family — and the people who depend on the business — are never put in that position again. Today, both businesses run side by side, each strengthening the other, and built on the same standard that started it all: do the job right, and leave it better than you found it.

Licensed. Insured. Over 40 Years of Finishing Expertise Behind Every Job.

Licensed, Insured, and Family Operated

Pressure Wash Long Island is fully licensed and insured with comprehensive liability coverage on every residential and commercial project. We are a family business with over 40 years of trade experience, a physical office at 108 Jerusalem Ave in Hicksville, and a reputation built on doing the work right. We carry full liability insurance because we work on properties where the materials — natural stone, aged brick, cedar, custom pavers — are expensive to repair if something goes wrong. Our coverage protects your property and gives you the peace of mind that comes from hiring a company that takes the work seriously enough to insure it properly. Call (516) 350-8393 for a free quote.

Transparent Quoting

We provide clear, written quotes before any work begins — the price we quote is the price you pay. No hidden fees, no surprise charges after the work starts, no upselling on the job site. We schedule at times that work for your household or business, arrive when we say we will, and walk the property with you after completion so you can verify every surface we cleaned. We believe the quoting process should be as straightforward as the work itself — you tell us what needs cleaning, we assess the surfaces and contamination, and we give you an honest number based on what the job actually requires. If we see something during the assessment that changes the scope, we discuss it with you before we start — not after. Call (516) 350-8393 or text us to get started.

Where We Work

We serve communities across Nassau County from our Hicksville office, including Hicksville, Plainview, Jericho, Brookville, Garden City, Mineola, Glen Head, Muttontown, Levittown, Merrick, Massapequa, Oyster Bay, Roslyn, Wantagh, Bellmore, Seaford, and surrounding towns. We understand Long Island’s three distinct shore zones — South Shore salt-air, North Shore estate tree coverage, and Central Inland pollen and vehicle particulate — and we adjust our cleaning approach based on where your property sits. A home in Merrick dealing with salt-air from Great South Bay needs a different treatment than a shaded estate in Muttontown bordering the Preserve, and both are different from a Levittown ranch collecting pollen from trees that were not there when the house was built in 1950. That is why we do not use one method everywhere — we match the approach to the location and the material.

Our Services — Professional Exterior Cleaning and Surface Restoration

We use biodegradable surfactant solutions on every job — effective against mold, algae, salt deposits, pollen, and embedded staining without introducing harsh chemicals into your soil, landscaping, or storm drainage. We pre-wet adjacent plant material before cleaning as standard practice on every project. Responsible cleaning is built into how we work, not an afterthought or an upcharge.

Pressure Wash Long Island provides the following services across Nassau County:

Pressure Washing — concrete driveways, walkways, patios, pool decks, stoops, garage aprons, and all hard surfaces. Commercial-grade equipment calibrated for each substrate.

House Washing — vinyl, aluminum, cedar, stucco, EIFS, brick, painted wood, and natural stone siding cleaned with low-pressure soft-wash methodology under 500 PSI using surfactant solutions.

Roof Cleaning — Gloeocapsa magma, moss, and lichen removed with low-pressure soft-wash treatment that meets GAF, CertainTeed, and Owens Corning maintenance standards.

Gutter Cleaning — full channel debris removal, downspout flushing, gutter face brightening to eliminate tiger striping, and system inspection on every visit.

Gutter Guard Installation — micro-mesh guard systems custom-fitted to aluminum, vinyl, copper, and steel gutter systems after a full cleaning.

Window Cleaning — six-step glass restoration process using 3M glass pads, bronze pads, boar’s hair brushes, and a Zero TDS pure water di-ionization rinse for a streak-free finish.

Paver Sealing — our clean, sand, and seal process uses commercial-grade pressure washing, polymeric sand installation, and sealers matched to the material — two-part urethane for concrete pavers, silane/siloxane penetrating sealer for brick, and silane/siloxane polymer blend for natural stone and travertine. We do not use solvent-based sealers.

Commercial Pressure Washing — building facades, storefronts, walkways, entryways, and parking areas for retail, restaurants, office buildings, apartment complexes, dealerships, banks, and hotels across Nassau County.
